Note: Primrose Motif is wored in one piece. First layer is worked in rounds from the center out; then each of 4 petals of second layer are worked on turning rows.

SPECIAL STITCHES AND NOTES
Magic (adjustable) ring: Make a large loop with yarn. Holding the loop with your fingers, insert hook into loop and pull working yarn through loop on hook. Continue to work indicated number of stitches into loop. Pull on yarn tail to close loop. Reverse single crochet (reverse sc): Keeping hook pointing to the left, insert hook into next stitch to the right and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through 2 loops.

Rnd 1 (RS): With MC, magic ring, ch 1, 24 sc in ring—24 sc.
Rnd 2: Ch 5 (counts as dc and ch 2), [sk next sc, dc in next sc, ch 2] around, join with sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch-5—12 dc, 12 ch-2 sps.
Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in first dc, [ch 7, sk next dc, sc in next dc] around, omitting last sc, join with sl st to first sc—6 ch-7 sps.
Rnd 4: Ch 1, [sc, hdc, 7 dc, hdc, sc] in each ch-7 sp around, join with sl st to first sc—6 petals.
Rnd 5: Working behind petals, ch 1, 3 sc in each ch-2 sp of Rnd 2, join with sl st to first sc.

First Large Petal
Begin work in rows.

Edge of Petal] around, join with sl st to first sc—172 sc. Fasten off.
Rnd 2: With RS facing, working from left to right, join CC1 with sl st to 3rd sc, ch 1, reverse sc (see Special
Stitches and Notes) in each sc around, skipping first and last 2 sc of each Petal—156 sc. Fasten off. Blocking
Wet or steam block Motif to finished measurements.
Weave in loose ends with a tapestry needle.
